It seems like ages ago that fans were concerned due to a slump that Anthony Edwards was going through. While his shooting woes only lasted three games, it was surprising to see the league leader in 3-pointers made have such a struggle from beyond the arc.
Out of the last six games for the Timberwolves, unfortunately, the first two were their blown losses against the Suns and Kings. They have now won three straight, though, and the 24-year-old superstar has been scorching the nets in his last six outings.
Anthony Edwards scores 44 points in Tuesday's win
Tuesday night was a little too close for comfort. Facing the lowly Pelicans, Minnesota needed a dominant overtime period to come out on top. In the victory, Edwards finished with 44 points, 34 of which came after halftime. The 2020 first overall pick shot 16-30 from the field, 6-13 from 3-point distance, and 6-8 from the free-throw line.
That continues what has been an incredible stretch of scoring for Edwards. He now has scored 230 points over his last 6 games (38.3 per game) which is the most he has ever scored in a six-game stretch.
The 230 points Anthony Edwards has scored over the past six games are the most he's scored over a six-game span in his career.

Not only is Edwards scoring at will, but he’s also doing it in an efficient manner. Overall, in his six-game heater, he has connected on 55.6 percent of his field goals, 48.4 percent of his 3-point tries (on 62 attempts), and made 40 of 53 free-throw attempts. In only one of those contests did he shoot under 50 percent (9-19 against the Thunder).
Edwards has been incredibly accurate, especially from long distance, and it’s a complete turnaround from when he couldn’t buy one from deep.
Ant's second-half scoring in this six-game stretch is unmatched by anyone since Kobe Bryant in 2007.

scored 150+ points
made 50+ field goals
made 25+ free throws
...just in the 2nd half & OT.

Three-game stretch of struggles is quickly becoming forgotten
There’s a reason that Edwards is seen as one of the game’s top scorers. There may be times when he slumps (as everyone does), but they will never last long.
In the three games from November 15-19, Ant Man shot just 19-57 from the field, and never higher than 35.7% in any of those outings. What was more troubling was his immense struggles from 3-point distance. Games of 0-8, 1-7, and 1-8 from beyond the arc had him at just two makes in 23 tries on 3-pointers.
That’s long forgotten, though. There’s a reason that at 24 years old, Edwards is already the franchise’s all-time leader in career 30 and 40-point games. What could have been a bad loss on Tuesday instead became the Timberwolves' third straight win, largely due to the efforts of Edwards.
