Anthony Edwards continues to prove just how rare the type of talent he possesses is. Minnesota Timberwolves fans have been paying attention to his greatness for years. But as he gains more longevity in this league and keeps racking up statistical achievements and reaching milestones, his ability is becoming hard to deny, even for the national media that would prefer to only talk about the big market teams.

In the Wolves' win over the Houston Rockets on Thursday, Edwards reached two more impressive milestones. His 41-point outing against Houston was his 14th 40-point performance of his career, and it officially gave him the record for the most 40-point games in Timberwolves history. His previous outing where he scored 49 points (on the first night of a back-to-back) tied him with Karl-Anthony Towns in that category. Ant has now scored 90 points in his last two games, which ties him (with Towns) for the most points on a back-to-back in Minnesota history.

Edwards gave his reaction to tying KAT for the record for 40-point games after the win over Chicago on Wednesday. "That's dope, man," he said. "I didn't know that. And hopefully I can get some more."

Edwards is the youngest player in NBA history to make 1,000 threes

The other record Edwards set on Thursday is perhaps even more impressive. With his five made threes against the Rockets, Ant became the youngest player in the history of the NBA to make 1,000 career three-pointers.

We all knew this record was likely coming, but it is still astounding to hear the words said out loud. Obviously, the landscape of this league has changed quite a bit over the course of the last 15 years. The impact of Stephen Curry and then the influence of players like James Harden have changed the way the game is played, and Edwards probably does not reach this milestone without them paving the way.

But Ant would still not have reached this mark without his own unique talent. The now three-time All-Star is an incredibly gifted scorer and shooter, and there is no telling what the future holds as his game continues to level up and evolve.
