Recently, Minnesota Timberwolves legend Kevin Garnett tweeted out a picture of himself and San Antonio Spurs young star Victor Wembanyama. While they weren't in workout attire, it's reasonable to believe the two are also working out together, especially given KG's caption and that he appeared to be giving him some motivational speech. It's been a busy offseason for Wemby, who previously spent 10 days at the Shaolin temple. Now he's working with an all-time great big man.

Undoubtedly, Wembanyama has had a stellar two-year career so far. He has averaged 22.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 3.7 blocks in two seasons. However, there are always things to learn from legends.
Wemby is obsessed with being the best and eager to learn from all-time greats. This can also be seen through his relationship with Spurs icons Tim Duncan and David Robinson. Wembanyama working with some of the best big men in league history will certainly help take his game to the next level.
Garnett can help take Wemby's game to the next level
Perhaps the most notable area of improvement Garnett could help Wemby with is his inside game. Despite being 7-foot-3, Wembanyama nearly shot more 3-pointers (8.8) than 2-pointers (9.9), part of this is the Spurs relying on his shooting, but part of this is a lack of aggression from Wemby inside. Wembanyama only averaged five shots per game at the rim. Garnett has openly discussed that Wemby should develop more strength and look to score inside.
KG was a dominant interior scorer with unmatched intensity. Working with Garnett could unlock this part of Wemby's game. Perhaps Garnett could help Wembanyama develop a post-game. While this is somewhat of a lost art, given Wembanyama's size, posting up defenders will always be an efficient source of offense. This, along with his mentorship from Duncan and Robinson, could elevate Wembanyama's game.
Wembanyama averaged 24.3 points, 11 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 3.8 blocks through 46 games last season. He was forced to miss the latter part of the season with blood clots. However, Wembanyama is reportedly fully healthy for the upcoming season. Entering his third season, a jump was always expected for Wembanyama. Now, after working out with Garnett, this possibility appears even more likely.
Wembanyama is a true student of the game, and improving on some of his weaknesses while learning from all-time great players should terrify the rest of the league. He is already a dominant player with a playstyle that's never been seen before, but the crazy part is Wemby could get even better. In his third season, it's not far-fetched to believe that Wembanyama can finish top five or even top three in MVP voting, especially as the Spurs are likely to improve significantly as a team.
