The critically acclaimed video game NBA 2K25's release date is right around the corner. As anticipation builds, 2K Sports has periodically released players' ratings from around the league to relish the fans' excitement.

Coming off an impressive 56-win season, there's plenty of excitement both virtually and realistically for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Minnesota's marquee attraction, Anthony Edwards, is one of the top-20 rated players in the game, coming in at a 93 overall.

Aside from Edwards, Rudy Gobert comes in at an 85 while Karl-Anthony Towns ranks as an 88 overall. The rest of the Wolves roster can be seen here. Although 2K Sports did a fine job rating most of the Wolves, several ratings were…questionable. Below we've highlighted three Wolves who received an inferior rating.

Jaden McDaniels (80)

23-year-old forward Jaden McDaniels is rated the 20th-best small forward in the NBA. Ahead of McDaniels are Josh Hart, Brandon Miller, and R.J. Barrett. Players who share the same overall as the Wolves' swingman are Tobias Harris, Keldon Johnson, Dillon Brooks, Buddy Hield, De'Andre Hunter, and Lu Dort.

While earning an 80 overall is impressive, McDaniels' accolades trump the abovementioned players. The former Washington Husky is the only player in the 82, 81, and 80 overall group to be selected for an All-NBA or NBA All-Defensive Team. Although his scoring averages don't leap off the page, his tremendous defense should have drawn a rating of 82—on par with Hart.

Naz Reid (81)

Coming in at an 81 overall, reigning Sixth Man of the Year Naz Reid was given the short end of the stick in the year's NBA 2K. Like McDaniels, Reid is anointed as the 20th-best at his position in the game. Players with the same rating as Reid: Nic Claxton, Dereck Lively II, Nikola Vucevic, Jalen Duren, Daniel Gafford, and Isaiah Hartenstein.

Many of the players mentioned in the grouping above have yet to establish themselves in the NBA. Sure, the 33-year-old Vucevic shares the same rating as Reid, but his subpar efficiency metrics and porous defense have led to a decline in the virtual gradings. As an up-and-comer, fresh off a major award, a rating nearing DeAndre Ayton's 83 makes more sense.

Mike Conley (81)

Just like with McDaniels and Reid, Mike Conley is ranked as the 20th-best player at his position in NBA 2K25. This is apparently a common theme on the Timberwolves' roster. Conley shares the same rating as D'Angelo Russell, Andrew Nembhard, and Chris Paul.

Right away, it's apparent the rating Conley shares with Paul is bogus. Of course, Paul has a more storied career—he's a 12-time All-Star and 11-time All-NBAer. However, Paul has moved into an off-the-bench role to finish his career. While Paul will likely start on the San Antonio Spurs next season, Conley remains an integral piece to a championship contender.
