The 2024 NBA free agency period may be over two weeks old now, but there are still plenty of notable transactions being made. For the Minnesota Timberwolves, more roster decisions are still likely to take place. The team remains without a backup point guard outside of rookie Rob Dillingham, and a few options exist on the market.

Elsewhere, other moves are likely to impact Minnesota. One that will touch the hearts of Timberwolves fans came on Tuesday afternoon when Patrick Beverley announced his anticipated free agency decision. Rather than sign a minimum deal with another NBA team and continue his journeyman arc, Pat Bev opted to take a bigger contract with an overseas club.

For the 2024-25 season, Beverley will join Hapoel Tel Aviv BC in Israel.

Patrick Beverley will play in Israel next season

Over the last several days, rumors had been that Pat Bev was close to making a decision between taking his talents overseas or agreeing to a new deal with an NBA team. After some deliberation, it seems he is confident in his decision. "They gave me everything I asked for," Beverley said. "I couldn't refuse."

This likely marks the end of Pat Bev's time playing in the NBA. It is entirely possible that Timberwolves fans are the fanbase that has the highest opinion of Beverley to date. His iconic moment in the 2022 play-in game against the Clippers wherein he jumped on top of the scorer's table in triumph will forever be remembered in the Twin Cities.

No, he was never anything close to an All-Star or All-NBA level player. But Beverley's pride in playing for the Timberwolves was always touching, and his commitment to giving the fanbase something to cheer for was inspiring. If we never see him in an NBA uniform again, Pat Bev will always be remembered fondly by Minnesotans.
