On Wednesday, it was announced that the Minnesota Timberwolves are bringing back their classic "tree" jerseys for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The classic black jerseys with an outline of green trees and giant block letters are one of the most iconic jerseys in league history. The Timberwolves teased the return of the jersey on social media with a photo of Anthony Edwards rocking the iconic jersey.

For years, Timberwolves fans were begging for these jerseys to return. Now, new owners Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore have granted fans their wish.
Notably, the Wolves wore this jersey (with some tweaks) as their alternate jersey from 1997 to 2008. During this time, the same concept of this jersey in white and blue served as the Wolves' home and away uniforms. Minnesota briefly brought the classic black jerseys back during the 2018-19 season. Since then, fans have been awaiting the jersey's return, especially in a new era of Wolves hoops.

The Wolves also released an alternate court that will accompany the jersey with the team's classic logo featuring a giant wolf surrounded by trees and block letters. The court will have green trees along the sideline, with the sideline and baseline being black to match the jerseys.

Classic-themed uniforms, courts, and logos are always popular, especially when they look this good. Many people are also speculating that the Wolves' famous Prince-themed jerseys will return as Minnesota's city jersey this season. While this hasn't been confirmed, Wolves' fans could be in for another exciting announcement soon.
The return of these jerseys hints at an exciting Kevin Garnett announcement
Another popular rumor that seems likely but has yet to be confirmed is that Kevin Garnett's number will be retired this season. Garnett is by all accounts the franchise's best player. However, his classic No. 21 doesn't hang from the rafters due to a longstanding feud with previous owner Glen Taylor.
With Rodriguez and Lore officially taking over as owners following a multiple-year dispute with Taylor, Garnett seems primed to have his jersey retired. Now, with the announcement of these jerseys, this possibility seems even more certain. For Garnett's jersey to be retired on the night they debut these classic jerseys would be poetic. What would be even more poetic is that the Wolves host Garnett's former team, the Boston Celtics, on November 29, which would be the perfect opportunity to retire his jersey.
