While the Timberwolves’ play has been uneven at times this season (especially against the league’s better teams), there are clear areas that can be listed as strengths for them through 11 games. One of them, once again, is their 3-point accuracy. Look at the 3-point shooting leaderboard for individuals, and it is littered with Minnesota players at the top.

Jaden McDaniels and two others amongst 3-point leaders

To qualify to be amongst the leaders for 3-point percentage, the players must be on pace for at least 82 made attempts from beyond the arc. Through games played on November 11, there are 11 that qualify that have connected on at least 50% of their 3-point tries.

Three of those players are members of the Timberwolves. Coming in at fourth is Jaden McDaniels at 53.8%. Amongst the 184 players who have attempted 30 3-pointers this season, McDaniels leads them all in accuracy. It has been seven straight outings that the 25-year-old has made at least 50% from 3-point territory. It's not just the outside shooting, though, as McDaniels has been a much more confident player on the offensive end this season.

The other two Minnesota players have made exactly 50%. They are Anthony Edwards (29-58) and Mike Conley (15-30). The 24-year-old Edwards led the league with 320 made 3-pointers in 2024-25 and has made 17 in his last three performances. At 38 years old, one thing Conley hasn’t lost is his outside shooting touch, as he shot 41% from downtown last season (44.2% in 2023-24).

The three players that are currently ahead of McDaniels are Jamison Battle (11-15, 73.3%), Sion James (17-28, 60.7%), and Duop Reath (10-17, 58.8%).

Team as a whole one of the best from 3-point distance

With three players shooting at least 50% from beyond the arc, the Timberwolves are also one of the league’s best as a team. At 40.6%, Minnesota is second only behind the Rockets (42.8%).

That is a continuation of the last two seasons for the Wolves. In 2024-25, they finished fourth in 3-point accuracy at 37.7%. The prior year, Minnesota shot 38.7% from deep, good for third-best in the NBA.

So fans are used to seeing their squad show elite long-range accuracy. Edwards and Conley have a history of knocking down 3-pointers at a solid rate. Will McDaniels keep up the lights-out shooting? He entered the year with a career 34.8% 3-point accuracy.
